India Bowlers restrict Australia to 273 for 7 at Stumps of Day 2

David Warner and Ed Cowan made good start for Aussies but could not make it to big score. India Bowlers fight back well. Australia scored 273 for 7 at the end of the Day two in the 3rd Test on Friday. Steve Smith unbeaten on 58 runs and Mitchell Starc not out on 20.

Australia won the toss and elected to bat first. Aussies openers made solid start, David Warner and Ed Cowan put on 139 runs partnership for 1st wicket. David Warner dismissed by Ravindra Jadeja for 71 runs and followed by Skipper Michael Clarke for duck. Soon after Phillip Hughes also removed by Pragyan Ojha. At one stage Aussies slipped 151 for 3.

Ed Cowan and Steve Smith rebuild the Innings. Ed Cowan out for 86 runs. Ishant Sharma strike twice in 94 th over he got Brad Haddin for 21 and Moises Heriques for duck inside three deliveries. Ravindra Jadeja claimed for 3 for 56 and Ishant Sharma take 2 for 41. Ashwin and Ojha got two wickets each.

India beat Australia by Innings and 135 runs in 2nd Test and lead series 2-0

India thrash Australia by taking a 2-0 lead in the four match Test series with a huge win by an innings and 135 runs on Tuesday.

India win in Hyderabad came at lunch on day 4 with spinners Ravichandran Ashwin (5 for 63) and Ravindra  Jadeja (3 for 33) in leading form. Australia Resumed on day four on 74 for and Australia were all out for 131 runs. This was a Australia's first innings loss since the 2010-11 Ashes series.

Opener Ed Cowan top scorer with 44 runs in a awful collapse of 56 for 8 from Australia's batsmen which followed their eight wicket loss in the first Test in Chennai.

Shane Watson (9) was trapped down legside off the bowling of Ishant Sharma in the third over of the day 4. The spirits of the Australia dressing room sink when their in form captain Michael Clarke (16) was bowled by a  dreaming delivery by Jadeja at 4 for 108.

Jadeja strike again in his next over at 5 for 111 when Cowan was caught at slip after the ball rebound off wicketkeeper MS Dhoni's pads. Without adding up to the total, Moises Henriques was run out for a duck at the striker's end following a direct hit by Jadeja. 

Allrounder Glenn Maxwell finished a bad debut with the bat (13 and 8).Cheteshwar Pujara named for the Man of the Match award for his brilliant double hundred in first Innings. The third Test of the four match series starts in Mohali on March 14.

Australia 74/2 at Stumps on Day 3 still trail by 192 runs

Australia will cover to fight a rearguard battle to keep the second Test against India in Hyderabad, after losing early wickets late on day 3 stumps.

At the end of the Day 3 Australia where 74 for 2 in its second innings, tourists still trailing by 192 runs with two days left. Earlier, Australia's bowlers fight back, as India lost 9 wickets for just 116 to be bowled out for 503.

Australia's openers David Warner and Ed Cowan made a good start on a rotating deck, with an opening stand of 56 runs before Warner tried to sweep Ravichandran Ashwin and was removed for 26 runs.

Ashwin also removed Phillip Hughes on same manner. Cowan and number four Shane Watson survived remain at stumps, with Cowan unbeaten on 26 and Watson on 9 with a huge six.

India had resumed Day 3 on 1 for 311, and the visitors struggled early to stop the partnership between Murali Vijay and Cheteshwar Pujara, which reached 370 runs before Glenn Maxwell made the breakthrough before lunch. Vijay scored  167 runs.

Pujara scored his second double ton soon after, before dismissed to a Xavier Doherty catch off the bowling of James Pattinson for 204 runs. India was 3 for 400 at lunch, but the 2nd session maxim a stream of wickets fall, as Maxwell and Doherty take advantage of rising turn and bounce.

MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli then put on 56 runs for the fifth wicket, before Dhoni was caught by Xavier Doherty off Glen Maxwell for 44 runs. For Australia, Maxwell claimed 4 for 127, Doherty take 3 for 131, Pattinson got 2 for 80 and Peter Siddle had 1 for 92.

Pujara, Vijay undefeated 294 Stand sets up India gain 74 runs lead on Day 2

India is on way to bat Australia away of the second Test in Hyderabad after a spectacular performance brought the hosts side to a lead of 74 runs with nine wickets remaining at sumps on day two.

The India resumed the day on 5 for 0, but Australia had a little early success when Peter Siddle dismissed opener Virender Sehwag for 6 to leave India 1 for 17. This was the high point of the day for Australia, however, as Cheteshwar Pujara and Murali Vijay reserved their wickets for the rest of the day.

The pair was careful batting in the first session after Sehwag's dismissal, seeing India through to lunch at 54 for 1. But the last two sessions put a totally different nature on the match. as Pujara and Vijay take to the Australian bowling with a vengeance.

The third session was even poorer for the Australia, as a tiring bowling attack was taken apart by the Indian pair. Pujara finished his century, then came the 200 partnership and finally Vijay completed his hundred with a boundary off Xavier Doherty (0 for 85).

The remainder of the day saw more punishment meted out to the Australian bowlers, with David Warner going for 14 off his single over and Glenn Maxwell 0 for 55 off his 10 overs. Moises Henriques was the mainly impressive of the Australian bowlers, conceding 0 for 38 from his 19 overs, including seven maidens.

At stumps Murali Vijay was unbeaten on 129 with 17 fours and two sixes, while Cheteshwar Pujara was not out on 162, included with 25 fours and one six. India seem set for a big total, and the pressure will be on the visitors on day three.

Ravindra Jadeja and Bhuvneshwar Kumar stun Australia on Day 1

Ravinder Jadeja late strikes in last Session and Bhuvneshwar Kumar collapse in first session. Australia declared their 1st Innings 237 for 9. India 5 for no loss on Day 1 in 2nd Test at Hyderabad on Saturday.

Sehwag not out on 4 and Murali Vijay remain without score at Stumps of Day 1. Australia again won the Toss and elected to bat first. Bhuvneshwar dismissed both Warner and Cowan very early and shortly he take another wicket of Shane Watson 23 and R Ashwin removed Phillip Hughes for 19 runs. At One stage Australia Struggled 63/4. Then Mathew Joined to Skipper Michael Clarke.

Wade and Michale clarke batted well for 2nd Session. They fully dominated after lunch. At Tea Austrlaia were 187 for 4. India fight back in third session. Wade and Clarke put on 145 runs for the 5th wicket partnership this was a record fifth wicket partnership in India. Harbhajan Singh break this partnership taking Mathew Wade for 62 runs and then Ravindra Jadeja dismissed Henriques and debutant Glen Maxwell in quick succession.

Michael Clarke top scorer for Australia with 91 runs included with nine fours and 1 six. Ravindra jadeja claimed 3 for 33 runs and Bhuvneshwar Kumar take 3 for 53. Harbhajan Singh got 2 and Ashwin take 1 wicket.

India thrash Australia by eight wickets in the First Test and lead the series 1-0

Sachin Tendulkar smashed two sixes from his first two balls to guide deliver a quick kill as India crush Australia by eight wickets on Tuesday in the first Test at Chennai.

India scored 50 for 2 from 11.3 overs before lunch on the 5th day of play chasing a needed 50 runs to win. Tendulkar was undefeated on 13 from 10 deliveries with Cheteshwar Pujara not out on 8.

James Pattinson dismissed Murali Vijay  for six runs and Virender Sehwag was caught at slip off the bowling of Nathan Lyon at 19 runs. Australia resumed on day five at 232 for 9 and were all out for 241 with a lead of 49 runs.

Nathan Lyon was caught at short leg for 11 runs after put on 66 runs in 85 minutes for the 10th wicket with debut player Moises Henriques was unbeaten on 81 runs.

Ravichandran Ashwin grabbed 5 for 95 after his seven wicket haul in Australia's first innings. Spinners Harbhajan Singh (2 for 55) and Ravindra Jadeja (3 for 72) were the other wicket takers. MS Dhoni named Man of the Match award for his brilliant 224 knock.

The second Test of the four match series starts in Hyderabad on Saturday.

Henriques take a match into final Day India closing to win

Debutant Australia Player Moises Henriques has played a courageous hand of unbeaten 75 runs in Australia's second innings of 232 for 9 to give the visitors an overall lead of 40 runs after day four of the first Test Match against India.

Ravichandran Ashwin take 5 for 90 after his seven wicket haul in Australia's first innings. Henriques made 68 runs in Australia's first innings, has put on 57 runs for the 10th wicket with Nathan Lyon not out on 8. India allout for 572 runs skipper including MS Dhoni's brilliant knock of 224 runs.

Trailing by 192 runs on the first innings score Australia had seemed innings defeat at 175 for 9 before Lyon and Henriques fight back in a rough display.

Shane Watson made 17 runs and dismissed last ball before lunch and Ed Cowan scored 32 runs. Australia skipper Michael Clarke made century in the first innings he was dismissed for 31 runs. Harbhajan singh removed David Warner for 23 runs. Taildenders Peter Siddle (2), James Pattinson (11), Mitchell Starc (8) dismissed in quickly.

Earlier India had resumed on Day four on 515 for 8 and Dhoni added his score from 206 to 224 before becoming one of fifth wicket for fast bowler James Pattinson (5 for 96).

MS Dhoni unbeaten Double century put India on Top

India have in use charge of the first Test against Australia subsequent MS Dhoni's first double century which has gave the India side a first innings lead of 135 runs.

India still have two wickets in their pocket at 515 for 8 at stumps on Sunday after resumed in Chennai on 182 for 3 in reply to Australia's 1st Innings 380 runs.

MS  Dhoni smashed an undefeated 206 runs from 243 deliveries with 22 boundaries and five sixes. Nathan Lyon  Aussies most expensive bowler of the day ended day 3 with 182 for 3 from 40 overs.  Debutant tailender Bhuvenshwar Kumar contributed unbeaten 16 in a 109 runs stand for the ninth wicket.

This was a MS Dhoni's sixth century and first against Australia and came at a critical time with his side struggling at 4 for 196 runs.

The MS Dhoni shared a 128 runs stand for the fifth wicket with Virat Kohli (107) after Australia had been in a good position with India 4 for 196 when Sachin Tendulkar dismissed for 81. Fast Bowler James Pattinson claimed 4 for 89.

Kohli's 199-ball hundred, the fourth in 15 Test Matches, was his second in consecutive matches against Australia after his 116 runs in Adelaide 13 months ago.

Ravindra Jadeja (16) was dismissed by Pattinson shortly before tea. Ravi Ashwin (3) was Lyon's third wicket and debutant Moises Henriques' first wicket came when the seamer rattled the stumps of the energetic Harbhajan Singh (11) at 8 for 406.

MS Dhoni also completed his 4,000 runs in Test Carrier and India’s highest Individual score by a wicket Keeper. MS Dhoni was the first Indian Captain to score Double Century against Aussies.

Sachin Tendulkar lift India on Day 2 of the First Test

India's legendry batsman Sachin Tendulkar brilliant knock lift India after early striker from James Pattinson on Day 2 of the First Test Match against Australia at Chennai on Friday.

India ended the Day 2 with 182 for 3. Sachin Tendulkar scored unbeaten 71 runs and Virat Kohli not out on 50 remained at crease.

Sachin Tendulkar 94 runs partnership with Cheteshwar Pujara (44) and followed by unbeaten 77 runs fourth wicket stand with Virat Kohli.

James Pattinson claimed 3 for 25 runs from his six overs.

Earlier Australia all out for 380 runs in their 1st Innings. Michael Clarke top scorer with 130 runs. Ashwin take 103 for 7 this was his best bowling figures in Tests. India trail by 198 runs.

Clarke Century take Australia to 316 for 7 on Day 1

Australia Skipper Michael Clarke reached a brilliant century before close of play lead Australia to 316 for 7 on Day 1 first Test against India 

Michael Clarke unbeaten on 103 runs from 169 balls included with 11 fours and one six.

Debut Player Moises Henriques played supportive role when Aussies loss five Wickets. he made 68 runs and added 151 runs partnership for 6th wicket with Michael Clarke. Peter Siddle not out on 1 run.

Local Boy Ravichandran Ashwin showed brilliant bowling display on Day 1. He claimed 6 for 88 runs.

This century was the Michael Clarke's 23rd century.

Australia made a solid start David Warner and Ed Cowan added 64 runs for first wicket. David Warner scored 59 runs and Ed Cowan made 29. Shane Watson (28), and Mathew Wade (12) are quickly fall after lunch.

At One Stage Australia struggled 153 for 5. And then Clarke and Henriques rebuild the Innings.

Michael Clarke reached another Milestone on Day 1. He passed 7000 runs mark. Clarke became the 10th Australian Player to reach 7,000 runs Tests.

Gambhir dropped, Dhawan, Harbhajan included in India Squad for Australia Test Series

Gautam Gambhir was dropped for the 1st  two Test matches against Australia at the same time as Shikhar Dhawan and Murali Vijay were named in the 15 man India  squad. 

Apart from Dhawan, he  received his first  Test call up, Uttar Pradesh fast bowler  Bhuvneshwar Kumar was satisfied for his good quality presentation in the recent limited over matches  against Pakistan and England with a place in the Indian Test side for the first time. 

Gambhir, who was dropped  after a sequence of poor performances, will now skipper the India A side in the 3 day practice match against Australia on February 16. 

Virender Sehwag, who has been specified an extended run, might play in the middle order in case India make a decision to open with Vijay and Dhawan while Ajinkya Rahane and Ravindra Jadeja will also be vying for a place in the middle order. 

Harbhajan Singh,  was left out  for the third and fourth Tests against England, makes his way back to the Indian team while Piyush Chawla does not get a place. R Ashwin and Pragyan Ojha are the other spinners in the line up.

Australia squad for the India Tour

Australia  selectors announced   17 man squad which includes the uncapped allrounders Glenn Maxwell and Moises Henriques for the tour of India. Fast Bowler  James Pattinson also included  in a five man pace attack after absent most of the Australian summer due to  rib injury. 

The selectors have also recall left arm spinner Xavier Doherty and all-rounder Steven Smith to the Test side. Doherty have played just two Tests matches  both  in the Ashes in 2010 which Australia vanished but he win the race over Steven O' Keefe. Steven Smith also  has not played Test cricket after the  Ashes but has been selected for his capability to bowl leg spin and also his ability to handle spinners.  Left hander batsman  Usman Khawaja has also been chosen in the side .
