Ingram sets up big win for South Africa in First ODI

Colin Ingram made unbeaten century guide comfortable 125 runs victory for South Africa in the first ODI against Pakistan at Chevrolet Park on Sunday.

The Colin Ingram made unbeaten 105 runs as South Africa post 315 for 4 after being sent in to bat. Pakistan could only manage 190 runs in chase. Ingram made his runs off 103 deliveries included with ten boundaries. This was his third one day hundred and his second against Pakistan.

He put on partnerships of 120 runs for the third wicket with skipper AB de Villiers (65) and 62 runs for the fourth wicket with Faf du Plessis (26) and 50 off only 23 balls with Farhaan Behardien he was smashed 34 not out off 14 balls. Hashim Amla scored 43 runs before he was caught at deep square leg off Mohammad Hafeez. Pakistan made a good start with Mohammad Hafeez and Nasir Jamshed added 42 for the first wicket off 43 balls before they struggled a double blow.

Asad Shafiq dismissed cheaply and Pakistan were unable to build extensive partnerships with skipper Misbah-ul-Haq top scorer with 38 runs. Shahid Afridi quickfire 34 off 16 balls before he was last man out but his innings was never likely to alter the outcome. Afridi smashed three sixes, including a huge strike which sailed out of the ground and into a car park.

Kleinveldt ended with 4 for 22 in 5.2 overs and Ryan McLaren claimed 3 for 19. This win gave South Africa a 1-0 lead in the five match ODI series. The second match will starts on Centurion on Friday.

Pakistan beat South Africa by 95 runs in the 2nd Twenty20

Mohammad Hafeez and Umar Gul helped Pakistan to beat South Africa in the 2nd Twenty 20 International at Centurion on Sunday.

Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat first. Pakistan Openers made good start. Ahmed Shehzad scored 46 runs. Mohammad Haffez was top scorer for Pakistan with 86 runs included 9 fours and four sixes. Hafeez was the first Pakistan player to score 1000 runs in T20 Format and this knock was his carrier best. 

Pakistan ended their 1st Innings 195 for 7 in 20 overs. Rory Kleinveldt and Chris Morris take two wickets each. In the chasing struggled to score runs. AB de Villiers top scorer for South Africa with 36 runs and Kleiveldt made 22 runs. South Africa's three players out for duck. Umar Gul showed brilliant bowling spell he claimed five wickets for just 6 runs in 2.2 overs. Hafeez take 3 for 25. 

South Africa all out for 100 runs in 12.2 overs. Mohammad Haffez won the Man of the Match award for his carrier best 86 runs.

South Africa sweep the Test Series with 18 runs innings victory

South Africa again beat Pakistan by innings and 18 runs on Sunday and sweep the Three Test match series 3-0 the world's No.1 Test Team ended their game in style.

Pakistan bowled out for 235 runs in their 2nd innings in the 3rd Day of the Final Test Match. South Africa scored 409 in their 2nd innings and then Pakistan bowled out for 156 runs in the first innings. Debutant fast bowler Kyle Abott claimed 29 for 7.

Dale Steyn take 4 for 80 and Kyle Abott picked up 2 for 39 in the Pakistan's 2nd Innings. South Africa are undefeated side in the 12 Test Series. South Africa No.1 Test side of the 2012-13 with away win from England and Australia and Now New Zealand 2-0 and Pakistan 3-0.

Sarfraz Ahmed and Saeed Ajmal teporarily show resistants but cannot take it for long time. Pakistan restrict 176 for 6 after lunch on Day 3.

Ahmed and Saeed Ajmal added 62 runs partnership for the seventh wicket. Imran Farhat was the top scorer for Pakistan with 43 runs. Ahmed made 40 and Saeed Ajamal scored 31. Kyle Abott named for the Man of the Match Award.

South Africa 334 for 6 on Day 1 against Pakistan in third Test

Hashim Amla and AB de Villiers both showed brilliant knocks in the 90's on Day 1 of the final Test Match against Pakistan on Friday.

AB de Villiers was unbeaten on 98 and Vernon Philander not out on 45 runs. South Africa scored 334 for 6 at the end of Day 1.Elected to bat first, Openers Graeme Smith (5) and Alviro Peterson (10) dismissed early.

Faf du Plessis made 29 runs. AB de Villiers and du Plessis put on 69 runs stand. AB de Villiers added 79 runs partnership with Hashim Amla. He was scored 92 runs from 128 balls missed century.

South Africa seal the Test series after four wickets win over Pakistan in 2nd Test

South Africa resistant their position as the world's number one Test team when they beat Pakistan by four wickets on the fourth day of the 2nd  Test at Newlands on Sunday. The win  with a one day  to left, gave South Africa a win and  2-0 lead in the three  match Test  series and came after a spectacular Pakistan collapse in their second innings.

It was the South Africa's fifth consecutive Test Match victory, their sixth consecutive series win  and extended their unbeaten run in Tests to 14 matches going away back more than a year. Pakistan were all out for 169 runs after preliminary the day on a moderately comfortable 100 for 3.

They lost their final six wickets for 22 runs either side of lunch. At one stage four wickets falls  in 13 deliveries. The collapse was made by man of the match, left-arm spinner Robin Peterson, and opening bowler Vernon Philander claimed three wickets each before Dale Steyn ended off the innings.

Peterson completed with 3 for 73 and Philander followed up his 1st  innings 5 for 59 by take 4 for 40. Pakistan off-spinner Saeed Ajmal claimed 4 for 51 during South Africa's run chase to end with match figures of 10 for 147 runs.

Chasing the target of 182 runs to win, South Africa lost Alviro Petersen for  10 runs into their chase. Smith and Hashim Amla  added  53 runs for the second wicket before Smith was leg before to Saeed Ajmal for 29 runs soon before tea. Ajmal  dismissed Jacques Kallis for 21 runs.

Hashim Amla (58) and De Villiers (36) joint a speedy 62 runs stand for the 4th wicket. Peterson bowled Sarfraz Ahmed with the final  ball of the next over.  Vernon Philander then removed by Azhar Ali, who made a patient 65 runs.

South Africa come back well Second Test evenly poised on Day3

Robin Peterson and Dale Steyn leads a South African come back  which missing the second Test against Pakistan equally poised at the end of the Day 3 at Newlands  Saturday. Pakistan were 100 for 3 in their second innings at the Stumps, Pakistan lead by  112 runs.

Peterson smashed  84 runs  to allow South Africa to get inside 12 runs of visitors 1st  innings total of 338 runs  and Dale Steyn bowled well  to claimed  two wickets as Pakistan lost their first three  wickets for just  45 runs. At this  stage South Africa were faintly on top but Azhar Ali and skipper Misbah-ul-Haq joint a largely watchful unbeaten stand  of 55 runs .

South Africa were held back by a reappearance of a hamstring injury to Morne Morkel, who left out  field after bowling one ball in his 2nd  spell.  Peterson guided  a belligerent performance by South Africa's lower order batsmen as they improved from an overnight 139 for 5 and ended with 326 all out.

Pakistan right on top against South Africa in the second Test

Pakistan Off spinner Saeed Ajmal  claimed  all five wickets as Pakistan ended on top on a divisive second day of the second Test against South Africa at Newlands on Friday. South Africa were under pressure at 139 for 5 at the end of Day 2, still 199 runs behind Pakistan's first innings of 338 runs  after Saeed  Ajmal had completed with 5 for 41.

Three of Ajmal's wickets came after the use of the UDRS, including a controversial dismissal of celebrity South African batsman Jacques Kallis. This  was a creative day for Saeed Ajmal, was guided  fellow tailender Tanvir Ahmed added  64 runs  for the ninth wicket partnership  to take Pakistan at ease past the 300 mark.

Their ultimate total looked  unlikely when Vernon Philander take  three wickets in his first three overs to restrict  the Pakistan  to 268 for 8. Faf du Plessis top scorer  for South Africa's  with  28 runs. AB de Villiers and Dean Elgar survived at the crease.

Pakistan batted until resumed  at 253 for 5, even though Philander's early wickets  the home side's hopes of covering up the innings quickly. Philander claimed  5 for 59, This was his ninth five wicket haul in Test Cricket.

Younis Khan and Shafiq save Pakistan on Day 1 against South Africa

Hundreds  from  Younis Khan and Asad Shafiq changed Pakistan's fortunes on the first day of the 2nd  Test against South Africa at Newlands on Thursday. Pakistan were 253 for 5 at the end of the Day, having been struggled  at 33 for 4 after being sent in.

Younis  removed by  Vernon Philander 13 deliveries before the close for 111 runs, while Shafiq was also not out  on 111 runs. This  pair added  219 runs  record partnership for any wicket by Pakistan against South Africa.

This  was a outstanding turnaround after the South African pace  bowlers dismissed  their top order early on in the day. Morne Morkel claimed  two wickets and Philander and Dale Steyn take  one wicket  each.

Younis finished  his 21st Test ton it was his fourth against South Africa  after facing 192 balls and hitted six fours and three sixes. The solid Shafiq  scored  his third Test century  off 201 deliveries  with 13 fours and a six. Opening batsmen Mohammad Hafeez and Nasir Jamshed started carefully, scoring just ten runs before the left handed Jamshed was dismissed by  Philander for three.

Hafeez edged Steyn at  first slip after made 17 runs  before the tall Morkel got  two wickets in that over, having Azhar Ali caught at the back attempt an excessive drive before Pakistan skipper Misbah-ul-Haq for duck.

Dale Steyn sets up crushing win for South Africa in the 1st Test

South Africa’s paceman Dale Steyn  career best bowling figures sets up  South Africa to a comprehensive 211 runs win  over Pakistan on day four of the 1st  Test at the Wanderers in Johannesburg. 

 South African wicketkeeper AB de Villiers equals  England’s Jack Russell's world best of 11 dismissals in a Test Match  that came in the same venue  in 1995. Having set Pakistan, who made their lowest Test total of 49 runs  in the 1st  innings, an incredible 480-runs winning  target, South Africa bowled out for 268 runs.

The 2nd new ball did the twist  as the Pakistan  lost their last  six wickets for 59 runs  before the lunch break. Dale Steyn claimed  five second innings wickets to ended  with his fifth 10 wicket haul which also earned him the man of the match award.

Resuming on 183 for 4, Pakistan had added 26 runs to their total in the first  session before the first wicket fall. Pakistan will  have to counter in the next two Test matches in Cape Town (Feb 14 to 18) and Centurion (Feb 22 to 26).

Pakistan fight back on Day 3 against South Africa

The  unbeaten 101 runs partnership  for the 5th  wicket between Misbah-ul-Haq and Asad Shafiq kept back Pakistan alive in the 1st Test as they scored  183 for 4 at the end  of play on day three against South Africa at the Wanderers.

The guests looked to be direction for a serious defeat when they drooping to 82 for 4 before tea chasing down 480 runs, but the pair batted from first to last the final session to offer Pakistan hope. Pakistan  still need 297 runs to win but with the rain predicted on the final two days all results stay possible. Misbah (44 *) and Shafiq (53*) batted patiently, considering out 45 overs in their partnership as South Africa struggle to get a breakthrough.

Earlier, South Africa made  a quick start when they resumed their 2nd  innings, scoring 68 runs in just nine overs before declaring on 275 for 3.

Resuming on his  63, de Villiers lead the charge with a bright unbeaten hundred  from  117 balls. He was ably support by Hashim Amla, who made  74 runs  not out by the time Smith called the players in with 50 minutes of the first  session gone. 

South Africa right on Top after commanding Day 2 against Pakistan

South Africa seized a 411 run lead over Pakistan at the end of the 2nd  day of the first Test at the Wanderers on Saturday with seven  wickets still in hand after sent  Pakistan  for their lowest Test score of 49 runs.

Fast bowler Dale Steyn claimed  6 for 8, it was his  best bowling  figures at home, as Pakistan were all out in 29.1 overs four runs less than of their previous lowest  innings total against Australia. Phillander and Jacques Kallis take two wickets each.

Graeme Smith then determined he would not enforce the follow on and at the stumps  South Africa were 207 for 3  in their 2nd  innings.

Openers Smith and Alviro Peterson (27) put  82 runs. Graeme Smith reached his 37th Test 50 fifty  and Jacques Kallis made 7 runs. Hashim Amla unbeaten 50  and AB de Villiers (63*) then added  108 runs to take South Africa to the close.

Pakistan part timers leads on Smith's Big Day

Pakistan’s  part time bowlers ruin Graeme Smith's huge day as South Africa were all out for 253 on the 1st day of the first Test against Pakistan at the Wanderers Stadium on Friday.

South Africa were dismissed after Graeme Smith, celebrating 100 Tests as captain and his 32nd birthday, won the toss and elected  to bat .Pakistan survived two overs at the close of the day, finishing on 6 for no wicket.

The South African batsmen did well enough against Pakistan's front line bowlers, but they  lost five wickets to part timers Younis Khan and Mohammad Hafeez and another to a run out. South Africa's last five wickets cut down for just  21 runs.The important fact  to the match was dominated by Smith's achievement of becoming the first player in history to achieve 100 Test  captaincies.

The left-arm bowler  Junaid squared up Petersen and had him caught at 3rd  slip for 20 with the total on 46. Four balls later, without adding to the score, Smith was caught behind for 24 runs . Jacques Kallis made  50 in a 3rd  wicket stand of 79 runs  with Amla before he mistimed a pull against Gul and fell to a excellent diving catch by Asad Shafiq at deep midwicket.

Amla made 37 from 67 deliveries  with six fours.

De Villiers and du Plessis put on 64 runs for the fifth wicket with alert batting. But De Villiers pushed at a straight ball from Hafeez to be caught behind by wicketkeeper Sarfraz Ahmed for 31 runs. while Du Plessis made 41 runs.

Pakistan Cricket Board select talles fast bowler Mohammad Irfan for the Next Month South Africa Tests. Irfan was impressed with brilliant bowling in last India Series. Akmal brothers are left out for Pakistan Test Squad.
