Dale Steyn sets up crushing win for South Africa in the 1st Test


South Africa’s paceman Dale Steyn  career best bowling figures sets up  South Africa to a comprehensive 211 runs win  over Pakistan on day four of the 1st  Test at the Wanderers in Johannesburg. 

 South African wicketkeeper AB de Villiers equals  England’s Jack Russell's world best of 11 dismissals in a Test Match  that came in the same venue  in 1995. Having set Pakistan, who made their lowest Test total of 49 runs  in the 1st  innings, an incredible 480-runs winning  target, South Africa bowled out for 268 runs.

The 2nd new ball did the twist  as the Pakistan  lost their last  six wickets for 59 runs  before the lunch break. Dale Steyn claimed  five second innings wickets to ended  with his fifth 10 wicket haul which also earned him the man of the match award.

Resuming on 183 for 4, Pakistan had added 26 runs to their total in the first  session before the first wicket fall. Pakistan will  have to counter in the next two Test matches in Cape Town (Feb 14 to 18) and Centurion (Feb 22 to 26).
