Virat Kohli reached 150 runs brilliant innings from him

47.5 Boult to Kohli, 2 runs, whips it wide of long-on and hurtles back for the second. That's his 150. Waves his bat to the entirety of the crowd in a 360 degree arc. He has people feeding off the tip of his fingers

Virat Kohli completed his 26th ODI Century

Neesham to Kohli, 1 run, there it is! Another run-chase, another hundred. As simple as that. And what's more! There's absolutely no celebration. Nothing. I'm not making this up.

The Indian balcony stands and applauds what has been a wonderful knock. He was dropped early on by Taylor .. who is clapping by the way .. clapping at his own misery. Just a dab past backward point to get to the milestone

Partnership broken MS Dhoni caught by Ross Taylor

35.5 Matt Henry to Dhoni, out Caught by Ross Taylor!! This has come completely against the run of play and it's a soft, soft dismissal. Kohli wears a wry smile, then pats Dhoni on his way off. Back of length just outside off,

Dhoni lines up to force it off the back foot, then thrusts his hands towards the ball well in front of the body giving the impression that it stopped on him. Chips it straight to cover. New Zealand have a window. Dhoni c Ross Taylor b Matt Henry 80(91)

MS Dhoni brings up his fifty in over an year

25.2 Matt Henry to Dhoni, 1 run, first fifty (61st in ODIs) for MS Dhoni in over an year. The last time he got 50 or more was against South Africa in Indore, October 2015. This has been a very good innings.

Promoted himself up the order, took the responsibility and steadied India after a couple of early wickets. Short of a length delivery on the leg stump, Dhoni works it through backward square leg. He lifts his bat to acknowledge the applause from the dressing room and the crowd

MS Dhoni reached his 9000 ODI Runs with maximum

Six! And that is 9,000 ODI runs for MS Dhoni! Reaches a massive career milestone with a trademark six, he has hammered this down the track over long off. He's the 3rd wicket-keeper/batsman and 5th Indian to reach 9,000 runs in ODIs

Tim Southee Slower deliveryl traps Rohit Sharma in front

8.4 Southee to Rohit, out Lbw!! Shout for LBW and given. Rohit takes a while to move, probably just disappointed with himself more than anything else because it looked absolutely plumb. This is excellent cricket from Southee.

Surely a slower ball with the new ball was uncalled for, especially with grass on the pitch and Rohit wasn't expecting that. He was beaten on the flick and it hit him right in front of middle, would have at least crashed into leg stump. 41/2 and India are in a spot of bother. Rohit lbw b Southee 13(21)

Matt Henry strikes for NZ Rahane caught by Santner

2.5 Matt Henry to Rahane, out Caught by Santner!! In the airrrr and that's a dolly for the man at cover. A nothing shot. What was Rahane doing? Did the ball stop on him? Almost chipped one to mid-on a couple of balls ago and now he offers a simple catch. He knows that he's played a bad shot as he walks off. Meanwhile,

big roar from the crowd as they see Virat Kohli stride out. Surely not a really good delivery. Just a normal outswinger which just swings away from the right-hander, Rahane played a half-hearted lofted drive. It was as if he changed his mind at the last moment not to go hard and look for a boundary having got one earlier in the over. The ball hit the outside half of the bat and lobbed to Santner. Rahane c Santner b Matt Henry 5(10)

Latham and Neesham provide NZ post 285

A magnificent recovery this; 84 runs for the ninth wicket on the back of Jimmy Neesham's maiden ODI fifty and a handy cameo from Henry too. They've prevented New Zealand from folding up around the 40th over mark and have also powered them to a more than fighting score. Such has been the impact of that partnership that it's almost masked the quite remarkable collapse during those middle overs where the visitors slumped from 153/2 to 199/8.

Initially, the Kiwis seemed to have grown a fondness to the extra pace on this Mohali track. Guptill tonked a couple of huge sixes, Latham continued his good form with another half-century, and even Taylor battled his jitters to garner some momentum. But then, Amit Mishra proved the worth of having an attacking leggie in the team as he struck with a couple of beauties to stump Taylor and Ronchi in quick succession. Even the part time off-spin of Kedar Jadhav had a proper ball in the middle with 3 wickets to his name and there seemed to be no coming back from the downward spiral.

Neesham Caught by K Jadhav after his vital knock

48.6 U Yadav to Neesham, out Caught by K Jadhav!! And Kedar Jadhav again, this time with a catch at cover. Full toss, Neesham went too hard with the swing and miscued it high towards cover, where Jadhav took a few steps back and snaffled it with ease.

But he has played a good hand here. Once it looked like that NZ will be getting bowled out under 50 overs and here we are at a touching distance from 290 or above. Neesham c K Jadhav b U Yadav 57(47)

Neesham brings up his very vital fifty for Blackcaps

46.6 U Yadav to Neesham, FOUR, throws his bat at a length delivery around off, gets a very thick outside edge that scurries to the third man fence, fifty for Neesham. His maiden effort in ODIs and New Zealand needed that innings. May have given his side a score to defend

Southee bowled bottom edge sends the ball crashing into the stumps

37.5 U Yadav to Southee, out Bowled!! Ugly swipe and Southee is gone. It was not there for the sort of weird pull which Southee tried. Just short of a length outside off, Southee wanted to forced the swipe through mid-wicket,

ball too quick to do that, gets an inside edge and it crashes on the stumps. Dhoni wants them to get bundled out before 50 overs and New Zealand tail is doing everything it can to make his task easier. Southee b U Yadav 13(12)

M Santner caught by Kohli good length on leg stump

34.2 Bumrah to Santner, out Caught by Kohli!! The move has worked. Bumrah has got his man. Simple dismissal this. Nothing great about the delivery, in fact it should have been put away with ease. Slightly fuller on the legs of Santner,

who went early with the clip and closed his bat, the leading edge flew at a good catching height to Kohli at backward point. New Zealand in danger of getting bowled out well inside 50 overs. Santner c Kohli b Bumrah 7(13)

Big strike for Jadhav Latham this time the man to go

31.5 K Jadhav to Latham, out Caught by Hardik Pandya!! He keeps taking wickets. Just continues on his merry ways. Soft dismissal. A pattern that has seen Latham get out softly all tour. Tossed up outside off, he fails to keep the drive down and finds cover.

Reverse-cupped. Easy. Jadhav breaks into a smile as Pandey hugs him. Latham is so disappointed as he makes the walk back. All of a sudden they are six down. Jadhav has three. Latham c Hardik Pandya b K Jadhav 61

Another stumping for Mishra Dhoni is quick again behind the stumps

30.2 Mishra to Ronchi, out Stumped!! When MS is confident, then you better walk off. He rarely bluffs. Never goes up when it is not out. "Hands faster than a pickpocket", "fastest hands in the east" are some of the new phrases that Ravi Shaz throws up on air. He sure is working on his vocab everyday. Keen learner too. And enlightens us with his booming voice. What a joy! The wicket though is all Mishra's.

Again a brilliant leggie, pitches, turns away, past the drive of Ronchi, Ronchi had his back foot out and couldn't get it back in. Very little backlift from MS. That's why he can get it back onto the stumps so quickly. Very unique technique. Not from the textbook. But if it works so well, why not. New Zealand are losing wickets very quickly. And there are some glum faces in their camp. Ronchi st Dhoni b Mishra 1(4)

Another one for K Jadhav bonus wicket for India

29.4 K Jadhav to Corey Anderson, out Caught by Rahane!! Just like that Jadhav has his second. But this is poor, poor cricket from Corey Anderson. He has hit a full toss straight to a wide mid-off. High full toss outside off, he could've chosen any part of the ground, went too hard on the stroke, the bat turned and he sliced it to Jinks. Easy catch.

And the move to bring Jadhav back has worked. Great captaincy by MS it must be said - he had a long-off too and kept Jinks at a short mid-off position, deliberately kept wide as well. Slightly in and we have seen this move by him in the IPL before. Works wonders for him. Uncoventional but brilliant. Corey Anderson c Rahane b K Jadhav 6(5)

Ross Taylor was stumped from Mishra's excellent delivery

28.3 Mishra to Ross Taylor, out Stumped!! Full marks to Mishra. That is the way to bowl a leggie. And Mishra pumps his fist. Lovely flight from Mishra, tossed up around off, but the real action begins after the ball pitches, defeats Taylor who was looking to play across the line, the dip taking it past the bat and an easy stumping for MS.

Taylor's forward movement took him past the crease and he had no chance. Super stuff. And a big wicket too for Taylor was looking really dangerous, for the first time on tour. He was getting his eye in and seemed to slowly finding his touch back. New Zealand didn't need that jolt. At the most inopportune moment. Ross Taylor st Dhoni b Mishra 44(57)

Tom Latham good form continued completed his fifty

Uses the feet to come down the track and push one up the ground for a single to reach his half century, his second of the series

Kane Williamson trapped leg before by K Jadhav

12.6 K Jadhav to Williamson, out Lbw!! Scotty Styris with this cheeky comment on air when Jadhav was thrown the ball, today: "If he (Jadhav) gets a wicket today, I'm going home. That's it." Now Sunny G taunts him on air, saying he is looking for the next flight out of here. But what a wicket and a fine delivery to get it too. Completely did Williamson in. But Williamson too has to take the blame for preempting the sweep.

Irrespective of where the ball pitches, he has decided to sweep. Slower and the seam was rotating in the air, pitched and went straight on, Williamson missed the sweep as he was early into the shot. Struck in-line, no doubts about that and Ox has the finger raised. Easy call and Jadhav is running around in delight. Snuggles into MS' arms with his head down into the keeper's gloves. Did a little jig too. Big wicket. The golden arm for sure now. Williamson lbw b K Jadhav 22(27)

Martin Guptill getting out for lbw by Yadav

6.4 U Yadav to Guptill, out Lbw!! Plumb! Dead! Guptill is skimming the sweat off his helmet as he walks off. Again out lbw. A certainty you can add to life, death and taxes. Guptill getting out lbw. Thought it must be said it was a good ball. Pitched and cut back in, kept a bit low and Guptill had already plonked his front leg forward and across,

the bat has to come around the pad, doesn't in time, the ball has skidded through to strike him low and he was right in front. Ox makes the call. And a promising innings has been cut off. He was looking really dangerous today and the intent was there, to play a big innings, in his own aggressive style, but couldn't carry on. Guptill lbw b U Yadav 27(21)
