West Indies eliminate New Zealand from the ICC World Twenty20 2012. West Indies beat New Zealand in a Super Over after the match finished in tie.

Both teams scored 139. so the one over eliminator came for the results. New Zealand scored 17 runs in six balls. But West Indies reached the target with one ball to spare. West Indies stay alive in this tournament. 

The brilliant finish from Tim Southee take 3 for 21 and Doug Bracewell got 3-31 helped to restrict West Indies in 139 all out in 19.3 overs. Chris Gayle was top scorer for West Indies with 30 off just 14 balls.

England beat New Zealand by six wickets

Half century from Luke Wright and Steven Finn take 3 for 16 keep Defending champions England's hopes alive in the ICC World Twenty20 2012 with six wicket win over New Zealnad in the Super Eights on Saturday.

Luke Wright made 76 off just 43 balls and Eion Morgan 30 guide England to reach the target 149 in 18.5 overs. after were restricted to 148/6 in 20 overs.

England paceman Steven never allowed Zealand batsmans to score.He claimed 3 wickets for 16 runs. James Franklin top scorer for New Zealand with 50 off 30 balls.

England top order not shined for previous two games, but Luke Wright and Eoin Morgan batted well. they add 89 runs for the third wicket.This is the second loss for New Zealand after losing Super Over match against Sri Lanka. 

Luke named as the Man of the Match. New Zealand will take on West Indies and England will meet Sri Lanka on Monday.

Jamshed and Ajmal setup Pakistan beat New Zealand by 13 runs

Saeed Ajamal take 4 for 30 and Half Century from Nasir Jamshed guide Pakistan to beat New Zealand by 13 runs in ICC World Twenty20 on Sunday.

Nasir Jamshed made 56 off 35 balls it consists of two fours and four sixes lead to Pakistan to post 177 for 6 in 20 overs.

In the chasing, New Zealand made a solid start. Rob Nicol scored 33 runs. McCullum 48 runs off 41 balls and Daniel Vettori made 18. Pakistan offspinner Saeed Ajmal take 4 for 30. New Zealand ended innings at 164 for 9 in 20 overs.

New Zealand beat Bangladesh by 59 runs in its previous game. In this match New Zealand lose by very small margin. New Zealand now top of the table have Net Run Rate. Pakistan need high margin win against Bangladesh on Tuesday.

2012 ICC World Twenty20 in Sri Lanka

Brendon McCullum's brilliant record century leads Nea Zealand beat Bangladesh by 59 runs in ICC World Twenty20 on Friday. McCullum scored 123 runs from 58 balls it consists of 11 fours and seven sixes.

Nasir Hossain made 50 from 39 balls. Bangladesh ended innings with 132 for 8. Tim Southee take 3 for 16 and Kyle Mills 3 for 33 collapse the Bangladesh batting line up.

India lose to New Zealand by one run in a cliffhanger

Chennai: New Zealand pipped India by one run in a thrilling Twenty20 international in Chennai on Tuesday to ruin cancer survivor Yuvraj Singh's return to big-time cricket.

Brendon McCullum smashed 91 off 55 balls as the Kiwis posted 167 for 5 and then restricted the hosts to 166 for 4 despite Virat Kohli's 70 from 41 deliveries and a valiant 34 from Yuvraj.

India were cruising at 120 for 2 in the 14th over when left-arm seamer James Franklin turned the match around by having Kohli caught in the deep. The dismissal put the brakes on the scoring, leaving India needing 13 runs off Franklin's last over.

Franklin bowled Yuvraj with the fourth ball when six more were needed, but new batsman Rohit Sharma could manage only four runs from the last two deliveries.

McCullum led the charge for the Black Caps with 11 boundaries and three sixes before he was bowled by left-arm seamer Irfan Pathan. McCullum added 90 runs for the third wicket with Kane Williamson (28) after the Black Caps had lost openers Rob Nicol and Martin Guptill by the second over.

Taylor and Oram plundered 21 runs in the last two overs, which proved costly for India in the end.

Kohli, Dhoni star in India Test series win

India survived a mini collapse to sweep the series against a fighting New Zealand with a five-wicket victory on the penultimate day of the second and final Test in Bangalore on Monday.

The hosts slipped from 152-2 to 166-5 before achieving their 261-run target in the final session, thanks to a 96-run stand between man-of-the-match Virat Kohli (51 not out) and skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni (48 not out) under pressure.

India won the opening Test by an innings and 115 runs in Hyderabad.

New Zealand fought well as they twice neutralised India's advantage to storm back into the match on a good pitch before Dhoni and Kohli steered their team home, much to the delight of the nearly 15,000 spectators.

The Indian captain finished the match with a six over mid-wicket off off-spinner Jeetan Patel, who took three wickets. Dhoni hit two sixes and three fours, while Kohli cracked nine fours.

India were 77 without loss after brisk knocks from Virender Sehwag (38) and Gautam Gambhir (34) and then 152-2 following a 69-run stand between Cheteshwar Pujara (48) and Sachin Tendulkar (27) before New Zealand struck back.

The tourists came back strongly after tea, which was taken early due to rain, as they dismissed well-set Pujara, Tendulkar and Suresh Raina (0) in the space of 14 runs.

The 39-year-old Tendulkar was bowled for a third successive innings in the series, this time by fast bowler Tim Southee, after hitting five fours in his 34-ball knock.

The world's leading scorer in both Test and one-day cricket with an unprecedented 100 international centuries, Tendulkar finished the series without a half-century in three innings.

Patel had Pujara caught by Daniel Flynn, who ran backwards from forward short-leg to take a superb diving catch, and then bowled Raina.

Tendulkar and Pujara steadied the innings after Sehwag and Gambhir had fallen in the morning in the space of six runs.

Pujara, who scored a solid 159 in the first Test, was on 37 when he survived a stumping chance off Patel as wicket-keeper Brendon McCullum failed to collect the ball.

McCullum kept wicket in place of Kruger van Wyk, who was injured after being struck on the arm by a delivery from paceman Umesh Yadav while batting on Sunday.

New Zealand skipper Ross Taylor pressed Patel into the attack in the 12th over after pacemen Trent Boult, Southee and Doug Bracewell had failed to provide the breakthrough in overcast conditions.

Sehwag lofted Patel over long-off, the first six of the innings, and then cut him for a four before falling in the same over. He stepped out to try another big shot, but missed the line and was bowled.

He smashed one six and seven fours in his 33-ball knock.

Gambhir went for his shots early in the innings, hitting Boult and Bracewell each for two successive fours before falling to a loose shot.

He was caught by Taylor at first slip off Boult after hitting seven fours in his 58-ball knock.

New Zealand were earlier bowled out for 248 in their second innings, adding 16 runs to their overnight total of 232-9.

Patel (22), the last man out, looked unhappy with the decision when given caught behind off left-arm paceman Zaheer Khan, as the TV replays suggested he had missed the ball.

Off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin finished with 5-69, his third five-wicket haul in four innings against New Zealand. He was named man of the series.
