Chennai: After a lot of anticipation, Sachin Tendulkar has been recalled to the 17-member one-day international (ODI) squad for the triangular series in Australia, also involving Sri Lanka, which gets underway on February 5.
Tendulkar's last ODI came in April 2011, the World Cup final against Sri Lanka.
Meanwhile, Irfan Pathan, who did well on his return to international cricket after a gap of two years late last year, has been included in the squad along with Praveen Kumar, who has recovered from a fractured rib.
Off-spinner Harbhajan Singh has been overlooked on fitness grounds as Ravichandran Ashwin and Rahul Sharma will shoulder the spin responsibility.
Bengal batsman Manoj Tiwary has also made the cut.
Virender Sehwag will be deputy to captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
The triangular series will be preceded by two T20s against Australia on February 1 and 3.
