India Bowlers stop the whitewash against Pakistan


A energetic India claimed a sensational 10 runs  win  in a low scoring thriller to prevent  a series whitewash and bring back some pride in the 3rd  and final cricket one day  against  Pakistan here on Sunday. 

The India were bowled  out for  167 runs  in 43.4 overs but relied on a shining bowling display under pressure to stop the visitors at 157 runs  in a nerve  contest, held in enormously chilly and windy conditions. 

Fortunes  fluctuated from one team to the other till the very end before the hosts finally brought some cheer for their fans with the spectacular victory, which condensed their margin of defeat to 1 - 2 in the three match series. 

This  was another poor batting show  by the Indians who never really got going as the Pakistani pacers Mohammad Irfan and Junaid Khan caused early on damages before Saeed Ajmal joined the party with a career best  5 for 24.  But the India  bowlers made reparation in the end to fashion the win. 

The Pakistan, chasing the tiny target, were in a spot of bother as pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar rocked the innings with the early dismissals of Kamran Akmal and Younis Khan, but the visitors recovered through a gritty partnership between skipper Misbah-ul Haq (39) and Nasir Jamshed (34), who were the top contributors for Pakistan.  The  Pakistan innings shrunken again, giving the hosts an opportunity to come back into the match. 

skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni  scored 36, Suresh Raina made 31 and Ravindra Jadeja (27) got the starts but could not translate those into big knocks, though the heavy wintry conditions made batting a little difficult. MS Dhoni won the Man of the Match award and Nasir Jamshed  got the Man of the Series award.

Pakistan crush India and lead the Series 2-0

 Nasir Jamshed's Hundred  and energetic show by the bowlers leads Pakistan to a 85 runs  win over India in the 2nd  one day  at the Eden Gardens on Thursday. With this win Pakistan have taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three match series.

Chasing a target of 251 runs, India were Bowled  out for 165 runs with skipper MS Dhoni being the top scorer and remaining not out  on 54 runs. For Pakistan, all the bowlers performed  as a unit. Saeed Ajmal ended with 3 for 20 while Umar Gul and Junaid Khan seal  two wickets each. Pakistan reserved their record intact at the Eden by winning their fourth ODI 

India got off to an nervous start in their chase, with both the Pakistan pacers Mohammad Irfan and Junaid coming tough at the openers. Gautam Gambhir was the first to go when he tried to drive a Junaid delivery and played on for 11 runs  to leave India at 42 for 1. 
Then wickets kept on dropping with Virat Kohli (6) and Virender Sehwag (31) falling in quick succession. 

Yuvraj Singh (9) and Suresh Raina also fell cheaply. Yuvraj played an unnecessary pull shot by going after a widish delivery off Gul to give Kamran another catch. Mohammad Hafeez dismissed Raina  on 18, stumped splendidly by Kamran, to reduce India to 95 for 5.

Dhoni played the waiting game even though the asking rate rock climbing up and didn't show necessity to score runs. R Ashwin was sent above Jadeja but didn't do anything of note. He stumped off Shoaib Malik for 3 which came off 22 balls.

Jadeja was rough during his stay at the wicket and was prised out by Saeed Ajaml. The offspinner strike two times more in the over trapping Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Ashok Dinda lbw. Both of them didn't open their account.

MS Dhoni sustained with his inexplicable tactics of blocking the balls and taking singles. Only in the end, when the match was out of India's way , he flaming a couple of strong blows to reach his half-century.  Junaid Khan castled the last man Ishant Sharma to bowl India out for 165 runs  in 48 overs as Pakistan registered a thrashing 85 runs victory over the India.

Pakistan beat India by six wickets in the 1st ODI


Nasir Jamshed unbeaten century and Junaid Khan early wickets leads Pakistan to beat India six wickets in the first ODI at Chennai. 

Pakistan won the toss and decided to field first. In the over cast India came into play the 1st Innings. Pakistan Bowler Junaid Khan and Mohammad Irfan removed half of the Indian batting line up in the 10 overs. At one stage India were at deep trouble 29/5. But Suresh Raina and MS Dhoni rebuild the Indian slowly. Suresh Raina falls in a first delivery of the Batting Power Play. Suresh Raina out for 43 runs from 88 balls.



Then R Ashwin joined to MS Dhoni these taking runs without pressure. Ashwin well supported to Dhoni,MS Dhoni scored uneaten 113 runs from 125 ballS and R Ashwin not out on 31. These two added 125 runs partnership for 7th wicket wickets. Skipper also passed 7,000 runs in One Day Internationals. Finally India scored 227 runs for 6 in 50 overs. Junaid Khan claimed 4 for 43 runs. Mohammade Irfa and Saeed Ajmal take one wicket each.

In the chasing, India's debut Bowler show some shock to the Pakistan team he was removed Hafeez in very ball of the Pakistan Innings. They struggled to get runs for some overs. At one Stage Pakistan lost 2 for 21, But Opener Nasir Jamshed and Younis Khan take a game away from the India. Younis Khan made 58 runs from 60 before he falls to Dinda. skipper Misbah-ul-Haq also lost his wicket in Just 16 runs. Now slightly game turned to India's way. But Jamshed and Malik sensible batting leads to the Pakistan victory. Pakistan reached target 228/4 in 48.1 overs. Nasir Jamshed made Unbeaten 101 runs and Shoaib Malik not out on 34 runs. Indian Captain MS Dhoni got Man of the Match award for his fight hundred under pressure. Pakistan lead three match series 1-0. 

Yuvraj, Dinda guide India to a series level win over Pakistan

All Rounder Yuvraj Singh's brilliancy with the bat and Ashok Dinda's late wickets guide India to a series level victory  in the 2nd  T20 against Pakistan on Friday at Motera, where the India  levelled the two-match series at 1-1 by stopping Pakistan 11 runs short of the target in a close up match.

Yuvraj Singh  cracked a 36 ball 72 runs  with  seven sixes and four boundaries to take India to 192 for 5 in 20 overs  and later rolled his arm over claimed 1 for 23 to lead India's win. But Pakistan skipper Mohammad Hafeez's 26-ball 55 almost took the match away from India until Dinda's 3 for 36 bring them back in the disappearing stages.

Pakistan's chase was spurred on by a 74-run 1st wicket stand between Nasir Jamshed (41) and Ahmed Shehzad (31), which was broken down by R Ashwin in the 10th over when he dismissed Jamshed. Yuvraj then removed  Shehzad back with the score at 84 to pull things further back.

Skipper Hafeez came in at the fall of the second wicket and took the Indian bowlers on from the word go. Hafeez  innings included five fours and three sixes. By that  time Umar Akmal (24) was removed by Dinda, the pair had added 62 runs in just  5.3 overs. Ashok  Dinda then went on to remove dangerman Hafeez and Kamran Akmal for 5 that put the match in India's way.

Earlier, After being put in to bat by Pakistan, Gautam Gambhir (21) and Ajinkya Rahane (28) got off to fire  start, adding 44 in just  4.5 overs. But the two openers departed in very  quick succession. Yuvraj and Virat Kohli added 35 runs for the 3rd  wicket, with the partnership ending with Kohli's (27) run-out on a misjudged single.

 Yuvraj Singh and Dhoni batted with enormous courage to make better India. Both of them  added 97 runs off 44 balls with Yuvraj tearing into the pakistan’s bowling. The left-hander unleashed his fury especially on Saeed Ajmal and Sohail Tanvir. He smashed  Ajmal for three consecutive sixes.
Yuvraj and Dhoni (33) departed in quick succession with Umar Gul accounting for both. Gul finished with 4 for 37 runs, while Ajmal had figures of with 0 for 42. Yuvraj got Man of the Match award. And Hafeez honured for Man of the Series for his two consecutive half centuries.
