West Indies thrash Australia by 74 runs, will meet Sri Lanka in the Final

Chris Gayle smashed unbeaten 75 helped West Indies entered into their first ICC World Twenty20 final with 74 run win over Australia at Colombo on Friday.

West Indies won the toss and chose to bat first, Chris Gayle punished the Australian bowlers with unbeaten 75 runs from 41 balls it consists of 5 fours and 6 sixes. Dwayne Bravo made 37 runs. Chris Gayle and Dwayne Bravo added 83 runs partnership for the third wickets.West Indies scored 25 runs in 20th overs. Gayle send one six and after that Kieron Pollard smashed 3 sixes in that Particular overs. he was caught out in last ball. West Indies scored 205 for 4 20 overs.

In the chasing the huge target of 206, Australia struggled to score runs. The Australian wickets are falling in regular intervals. IPL 5: Bravo's last-ball six pulls CSK through

Dwayne Bravo struck a six from the final delivery as the Chennai Super Kings kept alive their play-off hopes in the Indian Premier League with a tense five-wicket win over the Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Monday. The West Indian allrounder struck Rajat Bhatia over the long-on fence. Chasing a modest score of 159, openers got Chennai off to a flying start as Michael Hussey and Murali Vijay stitched 97-run opening stand.

Mystery spinner Sunil Narine then struck twice in the tenth over to end the Hussey-Vijay partnership. Narine double-strike helped Kolkata reduce Chennai to 97 for 2 in 9.4 overs. Soon a terrible mix-up saw Suresh Raina perish for eight. Faf du Plessis and MS Dhoni then got down to the task of guiding Chennai to victory. Dhoni (28 off 21) set up the match nicely, taking 18 runs from the penultimate over bowled by Marchant de Lange

But the captain fell off the second ball in the last over, with just three coming from the next four, before Bravo's last-ball maximum stunned the home crowd into silence.

Earlier, Chennai bowlers put on a inspired show to restrict Kolkata for 158 for 6. Put into bat, Gautam Gambhir struck an aggressive half-century but then watched his team falter thanks to some brilliant bowling by Chennai bowlers. Gambhir blasted 62 off just 43 deliveries and put on a 99 run opening partnership with Brendon McCullum (37 off 29).

Bravo stars in Chittagong win in BPL

Dhaka: West Indies allrounder Dwayne Bravo shone with both bat and ball as Chittagong Kings hammered Duronto Rajshahi by 53 runs in the second match of the inaugural T20 Bangladesh Premier League at the Shere Bangla National Stadium on Friday.

Electing to bat, the Kings lost their openers Tamim Iqbal and Jahurul Islam with just 31 runs on the board inside six overs. But Nasir Jamshed (56 off 38 balls), Surrey's Jason Roy (43 off 25 balls), Bangladesh international Mahmudullah (43 not out off 18 balls) and West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo (38 not out off 19 balls) combined to take their team to a mammoth 206 for 4 in 20 overs.

The Rajshahi were never really in it and folded for 153 in the 20th over.

Apart from Junaid Siddique (42) and Sabbir Rahman (41 not out), the rest of the Rajshahi batsmen were disastrous.

Bravo and Enamul Haque Junior picked up three wickets each for the Kings.

With the win, the Kings bagged two points.
