Taylor stars for Zimbabwe

Captain scores 105 as hosts grab upper-hand against Bangladesh

An unbeaten century from Brendan Taylor helped put Zimbabwe in a strong position heading into the final day of their one-off Test with Bangladesh in Harare.
The hosts declared on 291-5 in their second innings, meaning Bangladesh were left to chase a daunting target of 375 to secure victory.
The visitors reached 112-3 to leave themselves in with a shout but are on the back foot as they need another 263 runs for an unlikely win.
Zimbabwe began the fourth day on 92-4 and made good progress before opting for an aggressive declaration at tea.
Captain Taylor led by example with an unbeaten 105 while Tatenda Taibu contributed 59 and Craig Ervine scored 35 in an unbroken stand of 86 for the sixth wicket with his skipper.

Wicket

Bangladesh claimed their sole wicket of the day when Taibu departed in the 75th over for after hitting a Shafiul Islam delivery straight to Robiul Islam at extra cover.
The home side's declaration gave their opponents four session to chase the target and the Tigers started well as Tamim Iqbal and Imrul Kayes putting on 65 for the opening wicket.
But the breakthrough came when Tamim (43) shouldered arms and saw his off stump clattered by a Chris Mpofu delivery.
Kayes followed for 31 over when he prodded at a Kyle Jarvis ball and was caught behind by wicketkeeper Taibu for 31.
Bangladesh's hopes took a further blow when Shahriar Nafees departed for nine in the 26th over, his middle stump removed by Jarvis.
Skipper Mohammad Ashraful (19 not out) and Mushfiqur Rahim (four no) avoided any more problems in the final four overs, leaving plenty to play for on the final day.
