England, South Australia draw tour match
Adelaide: Andrew Strauss and Alistair Cook hit centuries in an 181-run opening partnership but England's winning chances against South Australia were ended by rain and bad light on Saturday.
Strauss' 102 and Cook's unbeaten 111 — marking his return to form — allowed England to set the home team 308 to win from 65 overs. South Australia's innings was shortened to 40 overs by rain, then ended early because of bad light when the home side was 48-2.
Strauss has scored centuries in both pre-Ashes tour matches so far. England will play Australia A in a three-day match in Hobart in the final leadup to the first Test against Australia starting in Brisbane on November 25.
Cook found long-lost form, scoring 111 from 162 balls with 18 fours and a six.
