Shane Watson ton leads Australia win against West Indies in ICC Champions Trophy Warm up Match


Continuing brilliant form in the T20 Cricket League, Shane Watson smashed a brilliant hundred and Australia started their warm up for the Champions Trophy with a four wicket win over the West Indies in Cardiff on Saturday. 

Michael Clarke's side were set 257 runs to win, after Darren Bravo carved a brilliant 86 runs and guide the West Indies post a good 256 for 9 in their 50 overs. 

Initially it looled that total may be beyond Australia after David Warner and Phillip Hughes were quickly lost their wicket, which left the Australians struggled at 4 for 2 very early in the chase. 

But soon Shane Watson, who opened the batting, get back the momentum back from the West Indies as he went on to scored 135 runs in just 98 deliveries, included with 15 fours and four sixes. 

Watson's display put Australia firmly on course for win, with Adam Voges (43) and Mitchell Marsh, who made eight fours in his 19 ball unbeaten 39, ensuring there would be no late revival from the West Indies. 

Australia cannot take advantage of that early breakthrough and Bravo combined with Johnson Charles (55) to give the West Indies renewed hope. 

They added on 65 runs for the second wicket before Charles removed lbw to Clint Mckay, Mckay ended with figures of 3 for 45 from 10 overs, while Mitchell Starc claimed 4 for 29 off seven overs. 

Kohli, Karthik leads India beat Sri Lanka by five wickets


Virat Kohli and Dinesh Karthik smashed hundred and India warmed up for the Champions Trophy next week with an fine five wickets victory over Sri Lanka at Edgbaston on Saturday. 

Dhoni's side looked up against it when Sri Lanka scored imposing 333 for 5 after being put into bat first. 

But Virat Kohli scored 144 runs from 120 deliveries and Dinesh Karthik smashed unbeaten 106 runs from just 81 deliveries guide India to win with one over left. 

At one stage India were struggled at 62 for 3 in the 13th over and then 110 for 4 in the 21st over before Kohli and Karthik start the rescue. 

Kohli hitted 11 fours and three sixes, while Karthik smashed 12 fours and two sixes and with Skipper Dhoni, who scored unbeaten 18, lead India ended on 337 for 5. 

India will play their 2nd warm-up match against Australia on June 4 in Cardiff before start their Champions Trophy tournament against South Africa at the same ground two days later. 


Dilshan hit nine fours and one six in his 84 runs, while Perera made 82 off 94 deliveries, with three sixes. 

This pair added 160 runs in 26 overs before both retired in order to allow other batsmen get some match practice.
