England thrash New Zealand and seal the Series 2-0


Graeme Swann guided England thrash New Zealand by 247 runs in the 2nd Test against in Leeds on Tuesday with rain unable to save the visiting side.

England spinner Graeme Swann claimed 6 for 90, for a Test best match return of 10 for 132, as New Zealand, chasing the huge Target of 468 runs to win and They were dismissed for 220.

This victory gave England sweeps the two match Test series 2-0 after their 170 runs victory in the first Test at Lord's.

England scored 354 runsin the 1st Innings featured Joe Root's 104, he made his maiden Test Century on his home ground. In reply, New Zealand scored 174 runs, with Swann claimed 4 for 42.

But although England skipper Alastair Cook was in a position to enforce the follow-on Sunday, as New Zealand were not within 150 of the hosts' total following Friday's first day washout , he decided to bat again.

Alastair Cook extended his own England Test hundred record to 25 on Monday with an innings of 130 seven of those hundred came in the 11 matches since he became captain before declaring at 287 for 5 after lunch on Monday.

England won the toss and decided to bat first. Alastair Cook and Nick Compton added 43 runs for the first wicket. Cook made 32 and Trott dismissed for 39 runs.
