Pakistan beat India by six wickets in the 1st ODI


Nasir Jamshed unbeaten century and Junaid Khan early wickets leads Pakistan to beat India six wickets in the first ODI at Chennai. 

Pakistan won the toss and decided to field first. In the over cast India came into play the 1st Innings. Pakistan Bowler Junaid Khan and Mohammad Irfan removed half of the Indian batting line up in the 10 overs. At one stage India were at deep trouble 29/5. But Suresh Raina and MS Dhoni rebuild the Indian slowly. Suresh Raina falls in a first delivery of the Batting Power Play. Suresh Raina out for 43 runs from 88 balls.



Then R Ashwin joined to MS Dhoni these taking runs without pressure. Ashwin well supported to Dhoni,MS Dhoni scored uneaten 113 runs from 125 ballS and R Ashwin not out on 31. These two added 125 runs partnership for 7th wicket wickets. Skipper also passed 7,000 runs in One Day Internationals. Finally India scored 227 runs for 6 in 50 overs. Junaid Khan claimed 4 for 43 runs. Mohammade Irfa and Saeed Ajmal take one wicket each.

In the chasing, India's debut Bowler show some shock to the Pakistan team he was removed Hafeez in very ball of the Pakistan Innings. They struggled to get runs for some overs. At one Stage Pakistan lost 2 for 21, But Opener Nasir Jamshed and Younis Khan take a game away from the India. Younis Khan made 58 runs from 60 before he falls to Dinda. skipper Misbah-ul-Haq also lost his wicket in Just 16 runs. Now slightly game turned to India's way. But Jamshed and Malik sensible batting leads to the Pakistan victory. Pakistan reached target 228/4 in 48.1 overs. Nasir Jamshed made Unbeaten 101 runs and Shoaib Malik not out on 34 runs. Indian Captain MS Dhoni got Man of the Match award for his fight hundred under pressure. Pakistan lead three match series 1-0. 

Shaun Marsh stars as Perth Scorchers beat Melbourne Renegades by 51 runs

The  impressive  half century from Shaun Marsh propelled the Perth Scorchers to a greatly needed 51 runs  win over Melbourne Renegades at the WACA ground in Perth.

Shaun Marsh smashed five sixes and three fours in a wonderful 52 off 85 runs, guide  the Perth Scorchers post 3 for 187 in their 20 overs  after being sent into bat.

The Melbourne Renegades, who entered the clash unbeatable through four matches, struggled early after losing skipper Aaron Finch (8) with just 14 runs on the board.

They were ultimately dismissed for 136 runs with Ben Rohrer top scoring with 52 runs  from 33 balls.

This win moves the Perth Scorchers to a 3-2 record after five matches to keep their play-offs hopes alive.

Michael Hussey to retire after the 3rd Test against Sri Lanka

The 37-year old told Australia's batsman wanted to spend extra time with his family. Michael Hussey is the 2nd  experienced Australia batsman to retire in a month after former captain Ricky Ponting called it a day following the 3rd  Test match against South Africa at  Perth.

Popularly Known as  Mr Cricket  for his care for of the game and careful attention to detail, Hussey has been in top form, scoring three hundred  in his last five Tests matches

He has scored  6,183 runs at an average of 51.52 from 78 Tests and has also played 185 one-dayers  and 38 Twenty20 internationals.

Already struggling with a raft of injuries to key bowlers, Australia will need to blood a new batsman in time for the tour of India in February and March before following  Ashes series against England in 2013.

Yuvraj, Dinda guide India to a series level win over Pakistan

All Rounder Yuvraj Singh's brilliancy with the bat and Ashok Dinda's late wickets guide India to a series level victory  in the 2nd  T20 against Pakistan on Friday at Motera, where the India  levelled the two-match series at 1-1 by stopping Pakistan 11 runs short of the target in a close up match.

Yuvraj Singh  cracked a 36 ball 72 runs  with  seven sixes and four boundaries to take India to 192 for 5 in 20 overs  and later rolled his arm over claimed 1 for 23 to lead India's win. But Pakistan skipper Mohammad Hafeez's 26-ball 55 almost took the match away from India until Dinda's 3 for 36 bring them back in the disappearing stages.

Pakistan's chase was spurred on by a 74-run 1st wicket stand between Nasir Jamshed (41) and Ahmed Shehzad (31), which was broken down by R Ashwin in the 10th over when he dismissed Jamshed. Yuvraj then removed  Shehzad back with the score at 84 to pull things further back.

Skipper Hafeez came in at the fall of the second wicket and took the Indian bowlers on from the word go. Hafeez  innings included five fours and three sixes. By that  time Umar Akmal (24) was removed by Dinda, the pair had added 62 runs in just  5.3 overs. Ashok  Dinda then went on to remove dangerman Hafeez and Kamran Akmal for 5 that put the match in India's way.

Earlier, After being put in to bat by Pakistan, Gautam Gambhir (21) and Ajinkya Rahane (28) got off to fire  start, adding 44 in just  4.5 overs. But the two openers departed in very  quick succession. Yuvraj and Virat Kohli added 35 runs for the 3rd  wicket, with the partnership ending with Kohli's (27) run-out on a misjudged single.

 Yuvraj Singh and Dhoni batted with enormous courage to make better India. Both of them  added 97 runs off 44 balls with Yuvraj tearing into the pakistan’s bowling. The left-hander unleashed his fury especially on Saeed Ajmal and Sohail Tanvir. He smashed  Ajmal for three consecutive sixes.
Yuvraj and Dhoni (33) departed in quick succession with Umar Gul accounting for both. Gul finished with 4 for 37 runs, while Ajmal had figures of with 0 for 42. Yuvraj got Man of the Match award. And Hafeez honured for Man of the Series for his two consecutive half centuries.

Aussies clinch the series with huge innings win


Furious bowling from a revitalised Mitchell Johnson powered Australia to triumph by an innings and 201 runs against Sri Lanka in a Boxing Day Test that ended finished three days at the MCG.

Mitchell Johnson - who was left unbeaten eight short of his  second Test Hundred earlier in the day when Australia were bowled out for 460 in reply to Sri Lanka's 1st innings 156 runs - captured two for 16, injured two top-order batsmen and affected a run-out as the Sri Lanke  were skittled for 103.

Sri Lanka have lost seven wickets midway through day three's 2nd  session but, with Prasanna Jayawardene and Chanaka Welagedara unable to bat, and Kumar Sangakkara retiring hurt on 27 runs, the Australians were home and dry. The trouncing meant Australia retained the Warne-Muralitharan Trophy, with the third fixture in Sydney to start next Thursday. Johnson take 4 for 63 - including his 200th wicket  in Sri Lanka's first innings before boosting his status as a lower-order batsman with an unbeaten 92 in Australia's reply.



Light showers delayed the start of play by 15 minutes before Australia added 20 runs for the loss of Nathan Lyon, caught at short mid-wicket for one, and Jackson Bird, comprehensively bowled by Shaminda Eranga for a duck. Eranga take 3 for 109  and Dhammika Prasad got 3 for 106 runs were the leading bowlers for Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka  could not have started the rearguard action any worse as Mitchell Johnson and debutant Bird (2 for 29) removed their flaky top order. visitors severely slumped to 13 runs for four midway through the 1st session.

Mitchell Johnson began the rot with the run-out of Dimuth Karunaratne for one  in the first over and removed Tillakaratne Dilshan for duck in very  the next ball when Ed Cowan pouched a catch at square leg. Bird made matters worse for the besieged tourists when he bowled Skipper  Mahela Jayawardene for a duck and trapped Thilan Samaraweera lbw for one just before lunch.

Only Kumar  Sangakkara scored 27 runs and Angelo Mathews made 35  provided any resistance and, when the former retired hurt after copping a blow to the index finger from a Mitchell Johnson bouncer, the match was in its death throes. After Johnson bowled Mathews, Peter Siddle wrapped up Australia's win by gain Shaminda Eranga for a duck.

Mitchell Johnson claimed  man-of-the-match honours ahead of Australia Skipper Michael Clarke who scored 106 runs on day two.

Australia right on Top in the Day 2 against Sri Lanka

Australia dominated dealings on Day 2 in Melbourne and finished the day at 440 for 8, leading visitors by 284 runs. The best part of the day was a marvelous century by the Australian Captain, Michael Clarke completes  his 5th Test Hundred of the year. Clarke was well supported by Shane Watson and fast Bowler Mitchell Johnson. 

Australia resume Day 2 on their overnight score of 150 for 3 from 39 overs. Michael Clarke and Shane Watson were guarded at the start and showed solid defense. Sri Lanka struggled  an early setback when their lead fast bowler Chanaka Welegedara left the field in the 7th over of the day with a hamstring injury. Australia were soon in the lead and the pair brought up a vital half-century stand. Their confidence grow as they stay  more time at the crease. The boundaries became more regular and both the batsmen finished  well reached half-centuries and put together a splendid century stand for the 4th wicket. 

Australia  dominated the 1st session and went into Lunch at 238 for 3, leading the visitors by 82. Michael Clarke was not out on 56 while Shane Watson was there at the crease on 60. The pair had added 88 runs in 30 overs in the morning session. The 4th wicket partnership was worth 121. Sri Lanka went wicketless in the morning session. Skipper Michael Clarke, during the course of his innings, surpassed Ricky Ponting's record of maximum runs in Tests by an Australian in a calendar year – 1545 runs. 


Sri Lanka were suffering as a result of injuries and dropped catches. Michael Clarke completed a fantastic century of his 5th of the year,  He raised his bat to a standing ovation - it was his first century  at the MCG. The pair accelerated and had put up 194 runs before Shaminda Eranga finally got the first get through of the day - inducing an upper drive off a wide-ish delivery and getting rid of Clarke, caught at 3rd slip by Jayawardene - who must have been a relived man after dropping Watson earlier in the innings. The Australian skipper departed for a brilliant 106 runs. Dhammika Prasad made it a double blow when he had Shane Watson caught at deep square leg trying to attempt a hook. The batsman joined his skipper after making 83. Australia struggled  a third blow when Matthew Wade for 1, trying to attempt a similar shot to Watson, was caught by Eranga at deep fine leg. The hosts had lost 3 wickets for just 4 runs! Michael Hussey and Mitchell Johnson tried to calm the storm and played out a few quiet overs. Australia went into Tea at 332 for 6 with a lead of 176 runs. 

Michael Hussey and Johnson batted with carefulness but did not let go of an opportunity to score. They kept on getting the occasional boundary. The pair did not want to give the visitors even a semblance of a chance to make a comeback into the match. They defied the bowlers and put on a stubborn half century partnership. The lead was now over 200. Tillakaratne Dilshan ended the partnership getting rid of Hussey for 34 runs.  Mitchell Johnson now started to play a few more shots and got some boundaries. Peter Siddle was playing the role of the ideal foil keeping an end intact. The pair helped the hosts to cross the 400 runs . Sri Lanka were frustrated, They just did not have the firepower in the bowling to polish of the Australian lower order. Mitchell Johnson completed his 7th Test fifty and together with Siddle took the Australian team to 440 for 8 at stumps on Day 2. Mitchell Johnson on a splendid 73 runs. Australia lead Sri Lanka by 284 runs. They had scored 290 runs in the day in 90 overs losing just 5 wickets. Jayawardene needs a wonder on Day 3 to change this match around. 

David, Phangiso claimed series for South Africa


The commanding batting show and restricted bowling leads South Africa to a 33 runs win over New Zealand in the third and deciding T20 International at St.George's Park on Wednesday.

Opener Henry Davids was the scorer with 68 runs from 51 balls as the Proteas posted a formidable 179-6 after winning the toss and chose to bat first. Left arm spinner Aaron Phangiso and seamer Ryan McLaren then collected identical figures of 3-25 as the Black Caps subsided to a substandard 146-9 in reply.

South Africa were briefly in trouble at 26-2 until Henry Davids was joined by Justin Ontong who belted 48 runs from 30 balls with three sixes and four during a third-wicket stand of 89 runs which laid the platform for a energetic end to the innings.

David Miller hit four boundaries in his 28 from 15 balls and Farhaan Behardien finished with an unbeaten 22 runs from just 11 balls. Martin Guptill made 24 runs and captain Brendon McCullum (25) briefly threatened to make a game of it but the run rate proved unmanageable and wickets fell steadily with the result in little doubt from the 10th over when the Black Caps drooping to 60-4.

New Zealand now play a three-day match against provincial side Boland in Paarl from December 28 in preparation for the first of two test matches starting in Cape Town on January 2.

Ponting stars as Hobart Hurricanes beat Sydney Sixers by 7 wickets

The typical batting show by Ricky Ponting crippled Sydney Sixers' bowlers and all but broken their hopes of a consecutive Big Bash League title after losing to Hobart Hurricanes at the SCG on Wednesday. Henriques and Steve Smith added 29 earlier than Henriques scooped a catch to George Bailey on 18.

The Sydney Sixers waited for debutant Hughes to hit back-to-back sixes to clear the boundary for the first time in the 16th over. The crafty quick, who played the last of his five one-day internationals in 2009, wreaked havoc taking three wickets in five balls to rocket to the top of the top wicket tally with 10 and finish with 4 for 31.

Australia Fast Bowler Mitchell Johnson have lauded Australia's pace element after it condensed Sri Lanka to a miserable 1st innings score on day one of the Boxing Day Test at the MCG.

Debutant Bird took the early plaudits with an outstanding showing in his 1st spell in Test cricket, taking 1 for 7 in his first five overs. After  thevisitors early wickets fell, Mitchell Johnson took control, taking two consecutive scalps on his way to his 200th Test wicket, before Nathan Lyon mopped up the tail enders with 2 for 23.


The one batting highlight for the visitors came with Kumar Sangakkara's 58 runs, which saw him become the joins quickest batsman to pass 10,000 Test runs.

Sri Lanka coach Graham Ford praised the style of Sangakkara's innings, but rued the fact his side's top scorer could not find anyone with whom to build a partnership.

Pakistan beat India by five wickets in a tensed 1st Twenty20

Shoaib Malik and Captain Mohammad Hafeez scored valuable half centuries as Pakistan completed their 1st Twenty20 won over India, beating India by five wickets to take 1-0 lead in the two match Twenty20 series.

Needing 10 runs in the final over, Pakistan overhauled the Indian target of 133 runs when Shoaib Malik smashed Ravindra Jadeja for straight six. Malik remained unbeaten on 57 from 50 balls while Hafeez made 61 from 44 deliveries. These two mutual 106 runs for the fourth wicket - the maximum for Pakistan in a T20 international.

New Zealand beat South Africa by eight wicket in D/L method


Guptill  done  101 not out from 69 balls, smashed the last ball of the match from Rory Kleinveldt over cover for four to allow New Zealand to reach a target of 169 in a match condensed to 19 overs a side because of a power failure.

The result leads New Zealand to level the three-match series with the decider  match to be played at Port Elizabeth on Wednesday. Martin Guptill missed his side's eight-wicket crush in the 1st match in Durban on Friday because of a stomach ailment, but the opening batsman produced his value to the team on Sunday by slamming six sixes and eight fours.
Guptill  became the second New Zealand Cricketer, after captain Brendon McCullum, to made a hundred in a Twenty20 international.

South Africa scored 165 runs for five after a floodlight failure spoiled a 50 minute delay. South Africa were 128 for two after 16.1 overs when the lights on one of four towers went out. Henry Davids scored 55 runs and captain Faf du Plessis made 63 runs for his team. New Zealand seam bowler Doug Bracewell claimed three wickets in four balls in the last over, all from catches in the deep, to finish his spell with three for 33. Martin Guptill named for the Man of the Match award for his last ball century.

Sachin Tendulkar announces his Retirement from ODI''s


India's Legendary Cricketer Sachin had announced his retirement from One Day Internationals on Sunday. The 39 year old little Master was expected to return for the upcoming ODI series against Pakistan.

Sachin Tendulkar Played 463 ODI appearance for India and scored 18,426 runs including 49 centuries. Sachin Tendulkar was the highest Run scorer for both ODI and Test Formates. The first man in Planet to score double century in ODI and also completes 100 international Hundreds.

Sachin statement was released by BCCI, I had decided to retire from ODI and I feel my dream comes true being a part of a World Cup winning Indian Team. I also wish all the very best to India Team for the future. Sachin Tendulkar made debut against Pakistan team on December 18, 1989.

Perth Scorchers beat Brisbane Heat by 9 wickets in rain affected game



A brilliant batting display of hitting by Nathan Coulter-Nile has leads Perth Scorchers by nine wickets win over Brisbane Heat in a rain haulted KFC T20 Big Bash League clash at Tuesday.

Needing 51 runs to win from just five overs following a extended rain delay, Coulter-Nile smashed 23 off just six balls including 20 runs off one Dan Christian over before Shaun Marsh's unbeaten 19 sealed the win with a six in the final over.

James Hopes appeared to have set the Heat on the way to victory when he conceded just six runs off the third over, taking the wicket of Herschelle Gibbs (9) in the process.

But Coulter-Nile, elevated into a pinch-hitting role, take the game away from the home side team with a powerful display.Brisbane Heat faced 13.1 overs in their innings before the heavens opened to delay play for over an hour.
